Try a Little Tenderness

           "Oh she may be weary, young girls they do get weary", says the great Otis Reading. He says "When they get weary, try a little tenderness." Well, as a country I see us getting a bit weary. But instead of treating each other with a little tenderness, we've been hurting each other with a lot of hate and disrespect. A lot of it comes from anger and the feeling of helplessness due to the government shutdown. Just like a lot of you I and my family have been affected by it all. But it's not going to change my character. Bitterness is not one of the most sexiest emotions to display; neither is anger, hatred, bias, bigotry and abrasiveness. There are a lot of things that are going on with the "powers that be" that we know very little about. There are a lot things that are not within our control, that causes a feeling of helplessness, but let's remember the prayer of serenity.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

With all that said. Let's deal with the things we know we can control. Those things include our behavior and the way we treat others. Remember we are ALL going through some tough times and we are ALL getting a bit weary. But when there is weariness, let's all try a little tenderness. Until next time, be kind and kindness will find you!
